Conditional Formatting in FeatureOS Forms helps you highlight important responses automatically so you can spot patterns, exceptions, and priority inputs at a glance. Instead of scanning every row manually, you can apply rules and conditions to flag responses that match specific criteria.
đ What is a Rule?
A Rule is the main instruction you set for conditional formatting. Think of it as the âwhat you want to check.â It tells the system which field or column should be evaluated before applying any logic.
Example: Highlight responses based on a column like Number or Submitter.
đ What is a Condition?
A Condition defines the logic inside the rule, itâs the âhow you want to check.â It determines the specific test applied to the chosen field and decides whether that response should be highlighted.
Example: If Number equals 1000, highlight that row. You can also stack multiple conditions inside a rule for more precise filtering.
You can add multiple conditions within one rule for more complex filtering.
⨠When to Use Conditional Formatting
Spotting anomalies: Quickly identify unusually high or low values (e.g., NPS scores below 6).
Tracking specific inputs: Highlight responses from VIP customers or beta testers.
Quality control: Ensure required data (like email or URLs) meets expected formats.
Prioritization: Flag feature requests above a certain volume.
đ Steps to Apply Conditional Formatting
Go to Responses tab of your chosen form.
On the right-hand side, open the Conditional Formatting button.
Click + Add Rule.
Select the Field (e.g., Number or Name).
Choose whether to highlight by Column or Row.
Add a Condition (e.g., Equals, Contains, Greater Than, etc.).
Example: Number > 1000.
(Optional) Add more conditions within the same rule for detailed formatting.
Click Save to apply.
đŻ Example Use Cases
Highlight all responses where Number > 1000.
Flag rows where Submitter = Internal Team to filter out test inputs.
Highlight Yes in a âCritical Bugâ field to bring urgent issues forward.
By combining Rules (the field to check) with Conditions (the criteria to apply), you gain a powerful way to automatically surface the responses that matter most.
