# Getting Started with Forms

Forms in FeatureOS are a powerful way to collect and organize information from your customers, team, or community. You can use them to:

-   Gather **structured suggestions** from users
    
-   Run **product surveys** to understand needs and preferences
    
-   **Book internal calls** or schedule meetings
    
-   Collect **applications** for a role or program and much more - all in a format that fits seamlessly into your workflow.
    

## **👏🏼 Finding Your Forms**

Head to the **Forms** section from the left-hand menu > This page displays **all forms** in your organization - both **drafts** and **published** ones.

For each form, you’ll see:

-   **Title** of the form
    
-   **Category** (e.g., Customer, Internal, Survey)
    
-   **Date created or last updated**
    
-   **Form type** (List or Wizard)
    
-   **Number of responses**
    

At the top of the list, you can differentiate

-   **All** – Displays every form in your account.
    
-   **Drafts** – Shows forms that are still being edited and not yet shared.
    
-   **Published** – Shows forms that are live and ready to receive responses.
    

## ✨Types of Forms

FeatureOS offers two main form layouts. Choose the one that best suits the type of experience you want for your respondents:

#### **1\. List Form**

-   Displays all questions at once in a single view.
    
-   Ideal for shorter forms or when you want users to see all questions upfront.
    
-   Great for feedback forms or application forms where users may want to review all questions before submitting.

#### 2\. Wizard Form

-   Presents one question at a time in a step-by-step manner.
    
-   Perfect for longer or more complex forms that you want to guide users through.
    
-   Helps reduce overwhelm by focusing on one question at a time, improving completion rates.

## 📁 Templates

Templates are **pre-built form layouts** that you can reuse anytime. They’re great for recurring needs like quarterly feedback surveys, bug report forms, or onboarding questionnaires.

You can start from a template and then tweak it, or create your form from scratch. Templates save time and ensure consistency across different teams or projects.

## 🗂️ Categories

Categories help you group forms by **purpose, project, or team**. This makes it easier to filter and find specific forms later, especially if you manage a large number of forms.

Some example categories:

-   Customer Feedback
    
-   Bug Reports
    
-   Hiring
    
-   Internal Surveys
    

You can assign a category **while creating the form**, and update or change it anytime afterward.

## 🗃️ Archived Forms

If you no longer need a form actively but want to keep its data, you can **archive** it. Archived forms stay stored in your account, so you can restore them whenever needed.

Perfect for seasonal campaigns, event registrations, or forms you may reuse in the future.

To **archive** a form,

1.  Open the form > Go to **Settings**.
    
2.  Scroll down to the **Actions** section.
    
3.  Click **Archive**.
