# How to Import Custom Fields When Importing Posts

You can now include custom fields when importing posts into a FeatureOS board. Follow the steps below to ensure a smooth import

### Step 1: Set Up Custom Fields

-   Go to **Boards** from your **Dashboard.**
    
-   Select the specific board you'd like to import posts to.
    
-   Navigate to **Settings > Custom Fields.**
    
-   Create the necessary custom fields that you want to include in your import.
    

⚠️ Make sure all custom fields are created before importing posts.

### Step 2: Prepare Your CSV

-   Click on Import Posts (located in each board’s settings).
    
-   Download and open the sample CSV provided.

-   Populate the file with your post data.
    
-   To include custom fields, add a column with the name of each custom field.

-   Fill in the values for each custom field in the corresponding rows.
    

### Step 3: Upload and Map Your Data

-   Upload the updated CSV file by dragging it into the import modal.
    
-   Use the drop-downs in the modal to map each column to the appropriate field.
    
-   Click "**Import n rows →**" to begin the import.

### Step 4: Review the Import Report

After the import is complete, you’ll receive an email with a report summarizing the results. Be sure to review it for any errors or skipped rows.
