Merging posts on featureOS

featureOS offers you the ability to merge multiple posts (up to 30), effectively consolidating similar posts with distinct phrasing.

If you've encountered situations where multiple posts convey identical suggestions but differ in wording, our smart suggestions for merging based on relevancy, simplifies this process for you.

Merging from a Single post view

  1. Start by accessing your Admin Dashboard.

  2. Choose the post you intend to merge with another.

  3. Locate the Merge icon situated among the icons on the top.

  4. This will open a modal which,

    • Shows a list of similar posts to merge - smart suggestions based on relevancy.

    • Or you can search and select the posts to merge.

  5. From the selected list of posts you can set a different parent post if needed or remove a post and add a different post.

  6. Once you've made your decisions, confirm the merge by clicking the Merge button.

  7. Rest assured, you can reverse this action and unmerge the posts if necessary.

Merging from the List view

  1. Select the relevant posts you need to merge from the All Posts page.

  2. This will open a modal where the post with the highest vote count will automatically be set as the parent post.

  3. You can then search to add more posts to merge, if needed.

  4. From the selected list of posts you can set a different parent post if needed or remove a post and add a different post.

  5. Once you've made your decisions, confirm the merge by clicking the Merge button.

  6. Rest assured, you can reverse this action and unmerge the posts if necessary.

Result of merging posts

  1. The original post will display a link to the parent post, indicating the merger.

  2. All comments from the original post will be transferred to the new post.

  3. Vote counts associated with both posts will be combined and attributed to the new post.
