SMTP Configuration

featureOS, you have the flexibility to tailor your email notifications to align perfectly with your brand identity. You can choose between using our SMTP server or your own SMTP server to send out notifications to your customers.

Additionally, you can disable the "Show Branded Content" option to achieve complete white-labeled email notifications, seamlessly hiding any featureOS branding elements.

๐Ÿ” Authentication emails like password resets, one-time login codes, and account confirmation emails will still be sent from featureOS server for security purposes.

Configuring Your SMTP Settings

  1. Start by navigating to your featureOS Dashboard.

  2. Head to โš™๏ธSettings over the left panel โ†’ Basic โ†’ Scroll down to White Labeling section.

  3. Click on Configure for SMTP Settings.

  4. You can set your SMTP service provider's

    • Host name

    • Port number

    • Username

    • Password

    • Authentication type

    • From Email

    • From Name

  5. Enable the checkbox for STARTTLS. (Optional) Read more โ†’

    Using STARTTLS, an email client informs the server they want to encrypt the content of an email message.
    If the email is intercepted, the content will be nearly impossible to decrypt, since only the email server and client have the key to decode the message.
  6. Enable the checkbox for Use [email protected] as fallback.

    The 'Fallback' feature is a backup SMTP delivery method that will be triggered (if you choose) when the main delivery method fails for any reason.
  7. Click on Test Connection before enabling SMTP Configuration and we will verify the credentials quickly.

  8. Once done, you can Enable SMTP Configuration โ†’ Save the changes. And you're all set!
