Cloudflare Security Checks on Your FeatureOS Domain

If you’re seeing a Cloudflare verification screen while accessing your FeatureOS workspace (on either a custom or non-custom domain), here’s what’s going on - and why it’s a sign the system is working as it should.

🔒 Why am I seeing this?

This isn’t an issue on FeatureOS’s end. These checks are triggered by Cloudflare, our security partner, to protect your workspace during periods of unusual or potentially harmful traffic. This can include:

  • Sudden spikes in traffic

  • High volume of requests from multiple IPs

  • Suspicious bot activity or scraping attempts

  • DDoS-like patterns

For example, in a recent case, over 431,000 requests were automatically mitigated by Cloudflare from a total of 21.99 million - all without any manual intervention.

✅ What happens next?

Cloudflare’s Web Application Firewall (WAF) works in real-time. These checks are temporary and automatically turn off once the suspicious activity drops and traffic returns to normal.

Importantly:

  • These checks do not block legitimate users - they simply verify access before proceeding.

  • Disabling this layer fully would expose all FeatureOS workspaces to significant risk and potential downtime.

❓Why don’t we see this on other sites?

Bot traffic patterns aren’t consistent. Just because one site doesn’t experience it today doesn’t mean it won’t in the future. FeatureOS proactively maintains a secure environment - and Cloudflare is one of the tools helping us do that without affecting your core data or functionality.
